8 acres of garden with magnificent views of the moor both within walking distance of the town and dogs on leads welcome. Follow the yellow signs to Mardon at the bottom of Lime Street with its long herbaceous border; granite terraces with borders of Agapanthus; a fernery beside a pond and an arboretum with 60 specimen trees. Sutton Mead, just up the lane from Chagford Cross, has paths wandering through woodland; seats beside granite lined ponds, a productive vegetable garden and a bog garden. Fabulous colour of Azaleas and Rhododendrons. Teas at both gardens and a plant sale at Sutton Mead.
The money raised goes to nursing and caring charities and the NGS is the largest contributor to both Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Whatever the weather please come and support these deserving causes.
