Saturday 28th November
Christmas Light Switch ON!
This year, for obvious reasons, Christmas will look a little different in Moreton. Unfortunately the Parish Council have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the public gathering for the Christmas light switch on event. However, we can’t let Christmas go by unmarked as everyone needs a little festive cheer to look forward to after this strange year. The Parish Council will be installing new sparkly Christmas lights to light up the town centre and we are encouraging residents to help us light up Moreton as well. This can simply be one light in your window or a full winter wonderland display – the choice is yours. The external Christmas trees on brackets will still be going ahead with their lights to add to the festive sparkle.
We may not be able to have the traditional public switch on, but Father Christmas will still be visiting Moretonhampstead along with his Elves on Saturday 28th November. Parents can book a visit from the big man or his Elves, who plan to deliver a gift to children of Primary School age or younger. The gifts will be free of charge to thank children for following the Government rules to keep everyone safe.
If you would like your child to receive a socially distanced visit from Father Christmas or his Elves and receive a free gift please email the clerk, Sam Parkin, with your address and child’s name and age or fill out the form and return to Greenhill addressed to the Clerk by 31st October 2020.
