'Music in Moreton' Presents John Doyle
Entrance £10 in advance, £12 on the door.
St Andrew’s Parish Church
John Doyle is one of the biggest names in Irish music – a position confirmed when he was asked to perform for President Obama on St Patrick’s Day 2009. A founding member of the highly acclaimed super group Solas, he has subsequently played with dozens of greats in the folk, Celtic and bluegrass worlds, including Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Eileen Ivers, Tim O’Brien, Linda Thompson and Kate Rusby. Since 2001 he has released three solo albums as well as collaborations with many other musicians – most notably Double Play, a Grammy-nominated contribution with the fiddler Liz Carroll; the eponymous release by the Irish folk band, Usher’s Island; and recent albums by the popular TransAtlantic Sessions artists.
‘One of the world’s best acoustic guitarists’ – The Wall Street Journal.
