Thursday 6th June
Throughout Danvers’ career there has been a close relationship between his work as an artist and as a poet.
This evening he will give a reading of poems drawn from his three books of essays, from work published in poetry magazines, and unpublished recent work.
Connections will be made between the poems and various drawings in the exhibition – particularly showing the importance of clear undivided attention, careful observation and being present to the natural world.
The reading will also include poems by poets - European, American and Asian – who have a been important to Danvers’ development as an artist/writer/poet.
The reading will take place upstairs at the Gallery and the ticket price will include a glass of wine or juice.
[90 mins – including questions/discussion]
