Saturday 16th March
Community Action Groups Devon (CAG Devon) is a project that supports a growing network of community groups in Mid Devon (and now Teignbridge) with projects to promote sharing, swapping, mending, reuse, repair, recycling and composting.
We have 14 groups in the network so far including projects like;
Repair Cafes - where local volunteer menders fix people’s electricals, textiles, furniture, bikes etc for free whilst passing on skills
Food Surplus Cafes – where volunteers turn unwanted supermarket/farm surplus into meals for the community
Community Fridges – where surplus food is made available in a fridge for anyone to take to avoid food waste
Plastic Free initiatives
Skill Share events
Composting workshops etc…
Many of our groups are part of the Transition Town initiative, which you may have heard of.
CAG Devon staff offer free support with things like group development, fundraising, publicity, insurance, resources and links to other groups.
We are running our annual Skill Share event on March 16th – see flyer below – which most of our groups will be attending and we are offering places to people who are interested in developing projects in their own communities or joining the network. Full details and booking are on our website here:
